Civitali Dental and Prosthetic Center srl

How the Center is organized

The Dental Center is organized on 170 square meters, covering two floors. The entrance is at the ground level, with a direct access to the street. Therefore, there are no barriers and also impaired patients may access the Center easily.

Reception and Administration

The Reception Desk is located at the entrance of the Civitali Center. Here the receptionists greet the patients on their arrival. The receptionists manage appointments, scheduled therapies, payments, recalls and fill all the forms necessary for registration and insurance purposes.

Waiting Room

The Waiting Room is endowed with journals about the latest events, science, travels, fashion, cooking, cars, informatics and with daily newspapers. A plasma screen broadcasts documentaries concerning oral health, presenting how therapies provided at the Centre may help in curing different oral diseases.

Operating Rooms

The four operating rooms comply to the most demanding technological standards. Each is endowed with a Digora Digital X-Ray System, ensuring the minimum exposition to ionizing radiations for the patient. An Electroscalpel and a Bipolar Diathermic Coagulator, together with a Diode Laser applied for oral surgery and gingival remodeling complete the room equipment.  All operating rooms are supplied with an additional Scialytic Lamp.

X-ray Room: Panoramic, Teleradiographic, ATM Study

The X-ray room is supplied with a  Panoramic and Teleradiographic X-ray device.

Panoramic X-ray. It’s the first choice for a full diagnosis of both dental arches. It allows examination of bone annexes, as the articular condyles (temporomandibular joints) in the lower jaw, and all the upper one. It visualizes the maxillary sinuses, the nasal cavities and, obviously, the whole dental formula. It’s a fundamental first visit diagnostic examination tool.

Teleradiography. X-ray is performed with the emitter at a certain distance (1 meter or more) from the radiographic film or digital detector. It’s ideal for cephalometric analysis, that is collecting cranial X-rays allowing for further measurements and line drawing, in order to study the size and the mutual position of the bones composing the splanchnocranium (i.e. the facial skeleton). Such measurements are extremely useful in orthodontics to plan proper therapies with corrective devices like, for example, orthodontic braces.

Stratigraphy. Consists in collecting more X-ray images regarding single spatial planes to elaborate pseudo-tridimensional information, with the aim of collecting data about the mutual spatial position of the different anatomic structures.

TMJ study. It’s done by performing X-ray exams of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) during its motion, which can provide invaluable information when studying pathologic states of the TMJ itself.
